Just in case your like me, and had no idea how to scroll up or down in Blender’s outliner window, you use the page up and page down keys. This problem ended up being solved by randomly hitting keys until I found the right combination. Thinking back, maybe reading the manual would have been better…

Blender, Coordinates and X3D
23rd Feb 2008When you export to X3D from Blender, your meshes may be all over the place. Make sure that the centre point is actually in the center when you export! You do that by going to editing button in the buttons panel, and pressing “Center New” in the mesh box thing.

Mac OSX: .Blender Folder
17th Feb 2008Ok, if your using blender on Mac OSX (Like me) your .blender folder is stored at
/Applications/blender.app/Contents/MacOS/.blender/scripts/or similar. To make it easier, copy and paste the folder to your home directory, and just use that. Be warned though that any script updates will probably have to be done manually each time you upgrade -
Using Blender
16th Feb 2008If you didn’t know, Blender is an open source 3D modelling application. It’s got most of the features of some of the really expensive ones (and some the expensive ones don’t have), for nothing! I’ve been using it for some uni work, so I thought I’d write down some useful hints that could help me (or whoever reads these) when using it. This is work in progress, so it will change when I remember more shortcuts and hints.
